    Description

Echinodorus cordifolius 'Marble Queen' is one of the most visually striking aquarium plants available, producing heart-shaped leaves with dramatic cream and green marbling — a genuine variegated pattern that looks almost artificially decorative but is completely natural. Each leaf is individual; no two are patterned identically. The visual impact in an aquarium is significant.

Medium light, no CO2 required, planted in substrate with root tabs. The variegated colouration can be more or less vivid depending on conditions — good lighting enhances the cream tones. Growth is moderate and the plant remains manageable.

Plant in the midground to background. Propagation via daughter plants on flower stems.

    Product FAQs

    Helpful details before you buy.

Is the marbling natural or artificial?

Completely natural — a genuine variegated cultivar where the leaf blade develops patches of cream alongside green tissue. No dyes or treatments involved.

Does the marbling change over time?

Individual leaves vary — new leaves can be more or less marbled than previous ones. The degree of variegation can shift with light conditions.

    Does it need CO2?

No — grows without CO2. Root tabs near the roots support the best growth.

    How large does it get?

Moderate size — 20–35cm in most conditions. Good for midground to background.

    How do I propagate it?

Daughter plants on flower stems — detach once they have 3–4 leaves and visible roots.
