    Description

This mini coconut bridge comes with Microsorum windelov — a delicate lace-leaf variety of Java fern — already established on it. It goes straight into your tank with zero preparation: no planting, no attaching, just rinse and place.

Java fern is one of the most forgiving plants in the hobby: low light, no CO2, tolerant of a wide range of water conditions. The coconut shell itself provides an instant hideout for shrimp, fry, and small bottom dwellers, while the lace-leaf fronds spread naturally over time, creating a miniature forest effect.

Ideal for nano, shrimp, and community tanks. Approx dimensions 5 x 12cm.

Customers praised this aquarium plant for being healthy, attractive, and well-packaged with fast delivery. Fish and shrimp enjoy it as a hiding place. However, some noted concerns about pricing being high, the coconut bridge size being smaller than expected, and occasional fern shedding in the first weeks.

    • Big and healthy and the rasboras love them!

Purchased the Java Moss covered coconut bridge and initially was ery pleased with it. Been in the aquarium for a couple of weeks now and moss aplears to be spartan. The filter has lots of loose fern attached. Hopefully there won't be any further loss of fern

Although a lovely healthy plant the price is very high considering its size. I bought the bridge thinking that fish would be able to swim through. Even my skinny loach wouldn't be able to.

I know it\'s called a \"mini\" but it is smaller than dimensions it\'s supposed to be.. My coconut shell size is 4.5cm wide and 6.5cm long..! Not impressed. The Java fern on it is good,so I\'m happy with that.

Would this be safe to put in a shrimp tank (nothing with copper used on it)? Thanks

    Aqua Essentials

Yes - if concerned just run it under lukewarm water for a minute or so but the growers we use do not use pesticides

    Caroline K.

Personally, I have never had a problem.
However, I assume we are talking about the
Pesticides used on some plant. What I do do before I put my plants in the aquarium
Is to give them a soak in warm water with a
Little tap water conditioner. Give it an hour or so and then gently rinse them in tap
Water. I keep blue jelly shrimp and Armano
Shrimp. No problem. Hope this helps. 😊

Does this need planting or can it sit on top of gravel? Thank you.

    Product FAQs

    Helpful details before you buy.

Does the Java fern come attached or loose?

The plant is already established on the coconut bridge — just rinse and place it in your tank. No attaching needed.

Is this suitable for shrimp tanks?

Yes, it's one of the best choices for shrimp setups. The coconut shell provides shelter and shrimp love grazing on the biofilm that forms on the Java fern leaves.

Some leaves are falling off — is that normal?

It's common for a few older leaves to shed in the first week or two after a move. The rhizome should stay green and new growth will follow shortly after.

    How big will it get?

The mini bridge is approximately 5x12cm. Java fern grows slowly and the lace fronds will spread naturally, reaching up to about 15cm in height.

    What lighting does it need?

Low to medium light is ideal. A great choice if you don't have a specialist planted tank light.
