Alternanthera reineckii 'Pink' is one of the most striking colour plants you can add to a planted aquarium. Its leaves are a vivid contrast of olive-green on top and deep magenta-pink underneath — and under good light, the whole plant shifts toward rich red, creating a bold focal point that stands out against the greens of most aquarium plants.
Native to South America, it grows to 25–50cm tall and is best planted in groups of 5 or more in the midground or background, where the colour contrast has maximum visual impact. The more light you give it, the more intense the red becomes.
It's easy to propagate: simply trim the top 5–10cm and replant it in the substrate. This also encourages the mother plant to branch out and become bushier, giving you more colour coverage over time.

I really love this plant but think because I am so new to real plants in my tank I was abit taken back by it, just getting it out of its pot and getting the stuff off the roots was stressing me out because the roots where well grown into it so every bit I took off had roots in it but it seems to be doing well need to research the plant more because roots are growing on the stems then they detach on there own not sure its ment to do that or not but I have just been replanting them

I had this plant in my big tank upstairs and ended up brining the plant down stairs so I could look at it more. I think its also important to mention that the plant really look sorry for it self when I first put it in the tank after delivery but after just a couple of days and some yummy plant food all its leaves stood up and the plant is stunning.
